Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide primary medical care during scheduled clinic times, rounds, and unscheduled visits.
- Perform initial and yearly physical examinations of extended care patients.
- Evaluate and treat patients with complex medical and psychiatric issues.
- Offer expert medical consultation to attending psychiatrists and nursing staff.
- Handle after-hours on-call medical coverage.
- Complete required documentation and reports in compliance with hospital policies and regulations.
- Lead medical clinic activities under the direction of the Medical Director.
- Consult with a broad range of medical professionals to make informed patient care decisions.
- Participate in hospital treatment team functions and serve on hospital committees as assigned.
