Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide primary medical care during scheduled clinic times, unscheduled visits, rounds on clinical units, and on-call after hours.
- Perform initial and yearly physical examinations of extended care patients.
- Handle evaluation and treatment of complex medical and psychiatric issues.
- Offer expert medical consultation to attending psychiatrists and nursing staff.
- Undertake after-hours on-call medical coverage.
- Complete necessary documentation and reports in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Provide leadership in the medical clinic under the Medical Director's guidance.
- Consult with a range of healthcare professionals to make informed patient care decisions.
- Participate in hospital treatment team functions and serve on committees as assigned.
Additional Information
- Must be licensed in Montana
- Experience in a state hospital setting preferred
- Knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses and their interrelation with medical symptoms is essential
