Description
We are responsible for Search infrastructure at Apple. We design and build infrastructure to support features that empower Spotlight and Siri users. We are responsible for the end-to-end ownership of our pipelines and services, from conception, to design, to implementation, to deployment, to operations. Each team member takes these responsibilities seriously while enjoying building scalable, high-quality services. Our systems include latency-sensitive services, jobs, and pipelines that address challenges within Search infrastructure engineering. Working with large-scale systems involving trillions of rows and many petabytes of data presents unique opportunities.
As a team member, you will be responsible for:
- Driving features from inception to production launch to enhance Spotlight Search, Siri, and other Apple products.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to solve ambiguous problems.
- Building software that improves experimentation and decision-making processes.
- Contributing to team and organizational goals & OKRs.
- Delivering high-quality artifacts and code.
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong coding skills in any programming language.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to write performant, clean code.
- Quick learner capable of picking up new technologies and delivering features promptly.
- Experience with Big Data problems, including data lakes and data pipelines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; able to work independently and collaboratively, receptive to feedback.
- Experience with inferencing of Large Language Models (LLMs).
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Scala, Golang, or Python.
- Experience with user search queries and synthetic query generation.
- Experience building Kubernetes-based jobs, services, and cloud platforms.
At Apple, base pay is part of a comprehensive compensation package, determined within a range based on skills, qualifications, experience, and location. The pay range for this role is $166,600 to $296,300. Employees may participate in stock programs, receive benefits such as medical and dental coverage, retirement plans, discounts, educational reimbursements, and potential bonuses or relocation assistance.
