Vertex is seeking a talented leader to join our US Kidney Business Unit to support our journey to bring Povetacicept to patients, a Phase 3 investigational therapy with the potential to transform lives across multiple serious diseases.
Job Description
As Director, Patient Marketing, US Kidney - Pove , you will lead patient marketing efforts within the US Kidney Business Unit, managing a small team and preparing for potential commercialization of an investigational therapy for IgAN and other B cell-mediated diseases. Your role will focus on evolving our go-to-market model, emphasizing patient empowerment and centering the patient in our strategies. The ideal candidate has a strong track record in US commercial roles, leadership experience, and thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment. This role reports to the Senior Director, Head of Pove Marketing for the US Kidney Business Unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coach the Patient Pove Marketing team to deliver high performance.
- Shape brand strategy and patient campaigns to address unmet needs.
- Manage tactical execution, including brand planning, creative efforts, and agency partnerships.
- Lead data and technology initiatives to support product uptake, including CRM and marketing automation.
- Measure ROI and optimize investments; seek automation and efficiency improvements.
- Gain market insights through patient learning and shape Vertex’s community positioning.
- Develop cross-functional partnerships to support business goals and engage with field, HCP, and education teams.
- Promote a culture of compliance, ethics, and integrity.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree.
- 10+ years in healthcare/biopharmaceutical marketing, consulting, or agency work, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of supervisory/management experience.
- Experience in developing communications and managing agency efforts.
- Preferred: Specialty product launch experience, experience in competitive markets, and kidney-related experience.

Pay Range
$194,400 - $291,600

Flex Designation
