Company Description
We are partnering with a rapidly growing, well-funded aerospace startup redefining autonomous systems for national security and commercial applications. This company has raised over $46M and achieved 5x revenue growth since its last funding round. They’ve established themselves as a leader in developing drone platforms that are built entirely in the U.S., featuring competitive pricing that vastly undercuts industry alternatives. With a team of nearly 60 employees and a strong customer base that includes major government clients, this is a rare opportunity to join a mission-driven team at a critical moment of scaling. As a recruiter representing this exciting opportunity, we are seeking top-tier talent to join the autonomy team that is laying the foundation for intelligent, vision-based drone systems. What You Will Do
- Develop and implement advanced computer vision algorithms for use in real-time autonomous drone platforms.
- Focus on tasks such as object detection, segmentation, depth estimation, and 3D scene understanding.
- Tackle challenges around GPS-denied navigation, environmental variability, and constrained compute environments.
- Translate cutting-edge academic research into robust, production-level systems.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with robotics, software, and hardware teams to integrate and optimize solutions.
- Contribute to both near-term deliverables and long-term infrastructure for scalable autonomy.
- Evaluate and optimize model performance via techniques like model pruning and quantization to meet resource limits.
Ideal Candidate Background
- 3+ years of experience in developing computer vision solutions, preferably for real-time or embedded systems.
- Demonstrated success turning research into deployed production systems.
- Proficiency in Python and C++, with strong knowledge of deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
- Experience with real-world robotics applications such as UAVs, autonomous ground vehicles, or AR/VR systems.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup-like environment with evolving priorities and goals.
- Proven ability to work onsite in a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
Preferred
- Experience with SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) or state estimation systems.
- Familiarity with embedded inference optimizations and edge deployment.
- Background in deploying vision algorithms under resource-constrained compute environments.
- Exposure to AR/VR environments with a focus on production implementation.
- Prior work on autonomy stacks for drones or other mobile platforms.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base Salary: $200,000 to $300,000 annually, depending on experience and fit.
- Equity: Highly competitive ownership stake in a high-growth startup.
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage.
- Onsite work with a close-knit, high-caliber team in El Segundo, CA.
- Opportunity to work on high-impact national security technology with real-world deployment.
- No security clearance required at this time—open to U.S. citizens.
