The firm has been actively expanding its market presence through acquisitions, completing approximately 20 acquisitions over the past year and managed premiums totaling $37 billion. Compensation
$300,000 Salary (not including yearly bonus or LTIP) .
There's flexibility for candidates depending on their experience level and current position in the market.
Hybrid work environment, requiring in-office presence two days per week (Tues/Wed or Tues/Thurs). Location options include Los Angeles (Pasadena area) or New York City.
Responsibilities
- Lead rate monitoring, loss ratio analysis, and book management to optimize profitability.
- Oversee pricing (60%) and reserving (40%) functions.
- Conduct captive feasibility studies for clients.
- Manage junior actuarial team members, providing guidance and oversight.
- Take ownership of key actuarial reports, including rate monitoring and loss ratio analysis.
- Evaluate book performance across multiple lines to drive strategic decisions.
- Collaborate closely with underwriting, risk engineering, claims, and senior leadership to align actuarial insights with business objectives.
- Provide consulting support for brokers on large accounts and captive feasibility studies.
- ACAS required, FCAS preferred; must be able to sign opinions.
- 15+ years of experience, with oversight of 7-12 years of experience staff.
- Expertise in commercial property, general liability, auto, and other lines.
- Strong background in both pricing and reserving.
