Intuit's litigation team is a small, dynamic, high-performing team responsible for overseeing litigation, investigation matters involving government entities and regulators, responses to third-party requests for information, and other legal matters.

We’re seeking an attorney with significant litigation experience to join as an Assistant General Counsel, Litigation. This role reports to the Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, overseeing the litigation team within the Legal department. The position is global, covering all Intuit products and services.

This role is hybrid, with expectations of on-site presence three days per week.

Responsibilities

  1. Managing and resolving lawsuits and pre-litigation disputes to achieve favorable business and legal outcomes.
  2. Responding to investigations and inquiries from regulators and government entities.
  3. Developing strategies for managing and resolving cases and investigations.
  4. Conducting internal investigations and working with witnesses.
  5. Collaborating with legal colleagues and business partners to achieve results and facilitate smart risk-taking.
  6. Managing responses to third-party information requests, ensuring legal compliance and data protection.
  7. Managing in-house legal support staff.
  8. Supervising outside counsel, managing budgets, and supporting litigation reporting.
  9. Drafting policies, internal procedures, and conducting training to educate business partners, emphasizing data-driven decisions.

Intuit offers a competitive compensation package with a pay-for-performance approach. The base salary ranges are:

  • Bay Area, California: $247,000 - $334,000
  • Southern California: $240,500 - $325,000
  • Washington DC: $207,000 - $280,000

This position is eligible for bonuses, equity rewards, and benefits as per company plans. Compensation depends on factors like experience, skills, location, and job knowledge. We also ensure pay equity across ethnicity and gender categories.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • JD in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar and ability to practice law locally.
  • 15+ years of combined enforcement, investigations, and legal experience, including in top-tier law firms, government agencies (e.g., U.S. Attorney’s Office, FTC, SEC), and in-house legal departments.
  • Experience managing direct reports.
  • Strong litigation mindset: detail-oriented, proactive, committed to excellence, and results-driven.
  • Business acumen: risk-aware, creative, and enabling smart decision-making.
  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn and develop deep expertise.
  • Team-oriented: relationship builder, empathetic, collaborative, and receptive to feedback.
  • Ability to manage significant caseloads and cross-company projects independently.
  • Highly organized, process-oriented, and innovative in improving workflows.
  • Enthusiastic, positive attitude, with excellent communication skills.
  • High integrity, accountability, and commitment to building strong team connections.
  • Proficiency in producing clear legal analyses and business communications, and managing client relationships, including with senior management.
