The Labor and Delivery nurse demonstrates the ability tomake clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner withsupervision. Thelabor and delivery nurse works with Mothers during the final stages ofpregnancy helping with birthing, monitoring the Mother's vital signs, andbecoming astute in signs and symptoms of possible complications. Thelabor and delivery nurse is involved in patient education and addressing thepsychosocial needs of Mothers after delivery and demonstrates critical thinkingand performance ability in the coordination of patientcare. Consistently performs according to nursing standards and isaccountable in managing patient care and assisting others in the management ofpatient care.Minimum Requirements: Current Registered Nurse license within the state of practice. One year of Labor and Delivery clinical experience within the last three years preferred.
