JOB SUMMARY:The CNC Machinist 2 operates under minimal supervision, operating CNC (computer numerical controlled) machinery to manufacture metallic and non-metallic parts. Shift: Monday - Friday2:30pm - 10:30pm Duties/Responsibilities: Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner. Reads and interprets blueprints. Properly and safely loads and unloads raw materials. Proficient in the use of measuring instruments. Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements. Ability to power on and operate CNC lathes and mills with minimal assistance. Must be self-sufficient. Must be familiar with MAZAK, HAAS, Fanuc, and Mori Controls. Understands and can function using M and G codes. Must demonstrate a basic understanding of cutting tools. Properly chooses/uses inserts, fixtures, and tooling. Understands and can perform basic tool wear offsets. Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery. Assists in the organization and maintenance of the machine shop work environment. Provides constant feedback and input into process improvement within the department. Basic understanding and ability to follow manufacturing processes and procedures. Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures. Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions. Communicates thoughts and ideas, both verbally and in writing, to co-workers and management. Attends scheduled meetings and actively participates by providing meaningful input. Is flexible with time and schedule to assure availability to customer or company as circumstances warrant. Communicates honestly, professionally, and respectfully with others and demonstrates effective listening skills. REQUIRED SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES: In-depth knowledge of CNC milling machines and operations. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Proficiency in using measuring instruments and tools. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work night shifts and adapt to a fast-paced environment. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in CNC machining is preferred. 1 year of experience in CNC machining Ability to understand basic mechanical and manufacturing techniques Ability to read, write and speak English fluently. PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS Frequently required to stand, walk, and reach during the duration of shift, 8-10 hours. Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend. Frequently required to perform repetitive tasks and lift up to 50 pounds. Understands and observes all necessary safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as designated in the specific work area assigned. This position requires working night shifts. The work environment includes exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.
