DescriptionAMG, Inc., was founded in 1977. We are an Employee Owned AS9100:D certified manufacturer head quartered in Central Virginia. We are looking to hire a Mill Machinist for 2nd shift. The second shift works 10 hour days Monday through Thursday and will be compensated with an additional 10% shift differential. The ideal candidate will have 3 or more years of experience operating and programming a CNC Lathe. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, however, other duties may apply.) Ability to work in a team environment Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner Properly and safely loads and unloads castings and raw materials in machinery Proficient at reading and interpreting blueprints Complete knowledge of measuring instruments Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements Ability to power on, setup, program, operate and troubleshoot machinery without assistance Ability to reduce setup time and machining through process improvements Must have ability to recognize, understand and properly use cutting tools Properly identifies use of inserts, grades, chip formers, fixtures and tooling Understands and has the ability to perform geometry and tool wear offsets Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery Assists in the organization and maintenance of the machine shop work Provides constant feedback and input into process improvement within the department to improve productivity and quality Proficient at understanding and have the ability to follow manufacturing processes and procedures Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions Communicates thoughts and ideas, both verbally and in writing, to co-workers and management Is flexible with time and schedule to assure availability to customer or company as circumstances warrant Communicates honestly, professionally and respectfully with others and demonstrates effective listening skillsRequirements Blueprint with GD&T reading capabilities Minimum 3 years of machining experience Understanding of mechanical and manufacturing techniquesMust be at least 18 years of age and a U.S. CitizenHigh School diploma or equivalentAMG, Inc. supports diversity and is committed to the concept of Equal Employment Opportunity.
