Patient Demographics: Adult cardiac post-op ICU
Patient Volume/Census: 8+ patients
Rounding: Yes, with surgeon, charge RNs, and nursing staff
Phone Consults: Not specified
Case Mix: Post-operative cardiac ICU patients including VAD, transplant, ECMO, etc.
FACILITY INFORMATION
EMR System: Epic
Office Equipment Available: ICU-specific procedural tools and monitors
Specialty Backup Available: 3 CV ICU surgeons, additional APP as needed
Support Staff Available: Charge RNs and interdisciplinary ICU team
Reason for Coverage: Turnover Vacancy

REQUIRED PROCEDURES
Central line insertion/removal
Arterial line insertion/removal
Intubation and extubation
Chest tube insertion (optional) and removal
Pacing wire management and removal
Sternotomy and EVH site management
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Licenses: Active Illinois license required
Board: Board Certified as NP or PA
DEA: Active DEA Certification required
Certifications: ACLS, BLS
Experience: Minimum 1 year in cardiovascular ICU
Other Qualifications: Must manage vasopressors/inotropes, ventilators, VV/VA ECMO, IABP, Impella, VAD, and post-transplant cases independently
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage complex post-operative cardiovascular ICU patients independently
Perform bedside procedures as required
Collaborate with surgeons, RNs, and ICU staff in patient care
Remain available on-site to respond to staff questions and emergencies
Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounding
