DescriptionPOSITION PURPOSE: Reporting to the Mailroom Supervisor, the Mail Services Associate sorts and distributes all incoming mail and other deliveries for students, faculty, and departments. Collects and processes all outgoing mail and services the Mailroom patron window.RequirementsESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Pick up mail from the USPS Post Office, return and sortAccept packages from delivery services to include UPS, Fed-Ex and others.Distribute mail throughout the campus as assigned. Service mailroom window for sales and package distribution. Operate cash register and handle monies accurately.Process mail forwarding by utilizing computer-based applications.Other duties as assignedJOB QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM KSA'S (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES) REQUIRED FOR PLACEMENT IN POSITIONEducation: High school diploma or GEDPrior experience: Previous experience in a mail service setting preferred. Licenses & Certifications:Current Motor Vehicle Operator LicensePhysical Requirement:Capable of lifting packages up to 70 pounds.Other Key Competencies: Strong customer service orientation with both internal and external contacts. Sound judgment, able to remain cool under pressure. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Resourcefulness - ability to seek out and use cutting edge resources (products, training, etc.) to ensure the job is being done as efficiently as possible. Proficient use in operating a computer. Schedule: A regular 5-weekday work schedule, except in the case of a part time employee, which could have modified schedules. Must be available for occasional travel as needed, using all modes of transportation.
