Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Seam Welders for a contract opportunity in Marinette, WIThis position is 100% onsite.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in welding tradeAbility to follow written and oral instructions and welding sequencesProficiency in cutting, welding, and hot work using FCAW (Fluxcore) with .052 dual shield wire and CO?Must have dependable transportationMust provide personal hand tools (see required tool list)Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background investigationMust be able to access work locations including government and private shipyards/vesselsPOSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:Layout and plan work from drawings, specifications, or oral instructionPerform welds in accordance with Navy or higher industry standardsEnsure all welds meet VT, MT, LPT, and/or RT inspections as applicableCoordinate work with multiple trades to complete assignmentsStack reinforcement/cover passes from bottom to topMaintain weld quality standards:Reinforcement: flush to max 3/32"Undercut: max 1/64"Welds must be free from porosity, cracks, underfill, burn through, incomplete fusion, arc strikes, spatter, and slagTESTING REQUIREMENTS:Required to pass 1G, 2G, and 3G V-groove tests using ceramic tape backing4G position testing required if WPQ1-D01 is not completedTest plates are 3/8" thickRoot passes done with 3/16" root openingTests visually inspected, then submitted for RT per MIL-STD-2035 Class 1 acceptance criteriaPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, pushing, and reachingManual dexterity requiredMust lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and wear PPEAbility to work aboard marine vessels and in variable environmentsREQUIRED EDUCATION:Accredited HSD/GEDWORK HOURS:Ful-Time Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check.
