DescriptionEssential Functions Must have experience with castings and fittings and know how to grind castings Want to learn grinding and essential warehouse operations Must have grinding experience on casting and fittings Must have experience with hand tools/grinding tools and pneumatic air equipment Should be able to perform any other activity assigned from time to time Maintains Grinding Booths/warehouse and yard environments to provide the cleanest and safest environment possible Must be able to carry at least 50lbs on a constant basisDuties and Responsibilities Has product inspected for accuracy and quality Packages products per Star Pipe Products' standards Must wear proper PPE while in Griding booth area Must wear goggles while working in the grinding area Sweeps floors; operates the floor scrubber Must be able to wear a respirator for extended periods of time Collects and disposes of trash from Grinding booths, warehouse, and yard Inspects bins, equipment, and warehouse for safety; takes appropriate safety precautions, and wears proper personal protective equipment Communicates issues such as equipment damage, incidents, safety concerns, etc., to management Other duties as assignedRequirementsEducation/ExperienceRequired: Must have a high school diploma or GED 1-3 years of experience completing warehouse tasksPreferred: 1-3 years of grinding experience in a production or manufacturing environmentKnowledge, Skills, Licenses, Certifications, Etc:Required: Excellent situational awareness Excellent attention to detailPreferred: Clear, concise, and accurate communication skills Ability to prioritize effectively Excellent teamwork skills Basic computer experience Ability to pay attention to detail Knowledge of 6s and Lean ManufacturingPhysical Demands Able to lift, move up, and carry materials up to 50 pounds on a constant basis. Will be required to reach, stand, walk, or crouch during a 10-hour shift Must be able to be on feet continuously during a 10-hour shift Must be able to lift 50 lbs frequently during a 10-hour shift Must be able to climb 4 feet onto and off of a fork truck repetitively during a 10-hour shift Must be able to kneel and bend at the knees frequently during a 10-hour shift Must be able to push and pull 300 lbs with a pallet jack frequently during a 10-hour shift Must be able to use wrist and hands frequently during a 10-hour shiftWork Environment Able to work in various climate conditions Overtime and weekend work may occasionally be required Some Saturdays will be mandatory when needed to accommodate the business needs
