DescriptionWORK LOCATION: Ann Arbor, MISALARY RANGE: The anticipated salary range for this role is $26 to $42 hourly. This range reflects a good faith estimate based on the targeted level for the role and typical compensation benchmarks across U.S. locations. Actual compensation may vary depending on the selected candidate's qualifications, experience, geographical location and internal alignment. FLSA STATUS: Non-ExemptSUMMARYThe CNC Technician fabricates and machines parts to supports production and engineering uses a variety of machines and tools including an aluminum mill, high speed graphite mill, laser cutters, and bead blaster. This role also performs a variety of tasks/processes in the production of Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC) and supporting products.RESPONSIBILITIESThe following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.Operates a 3-axis CNC mill to deliver parts to machine, quality and production specifications. Includes, zero start, tool change, loading and unloading, part washing and deburring QC and scrap reporting.Provides standard mill preventative maintenance including cleaning chips from the mill after every use, cleans insulation from mill, changes filters and keeps fluids maintained. All done within manufacturer recommendations and records and maintains maintenance records. Uses laser cutter including deburring and prepping sheet metal, delivers parts to machine, quality, and production specifications. Provides, documents and maintains maintenance recordsMonitors and maintains inventory for machining tools and materials, communicates and prioritizes needs with production, engineering and supply chainMonitors, maintains and keeps production kanban bins stocked so that parts are ready for production. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The work environment may involve a standard office setting while also incorporating elements of a production area. Employees will use standard office equipment, including computers, and must demonstrate stamina to sit or stand while maintaining attention to detail despite potential interruptions. The role may require occasional activities such as walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and bending. Vision is necessary for reading printed materials and a computer screen, while hearing and speech are essential for effective communication both in person and over the telephone. Additionally, the position may necessitate travel by air or automobile. Employees may be required to use personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coats, to ensure safety in the production environment. Employees may be able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
