The role involves administering respiratory therapy and managing supportive equipment in alignment with established protocols and guidelines. Essential Responsibilities: - Provide respiratory therapy under medical direction for patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies. - Assist with intubation, ventilator setup, and management. - Evaluate patient needs and coordinate with healthcare professionals for optimal care. - Develop rapport with patients and caregivers, creating a supportive environment for goal achievement. - Document and provide education to patients and caregivers based on identified needs. - Adhere to organizational competencies and standards of behavior. - Maintain physical ability to lift, push, pull, and stand as required. - Regularly interact with medical personnel and visitors to ensure continuity of care. Qualifications: - Required: - High school diploma or equivalent. - Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program. - Active New Jersey Respiratory Care license and Registered Respiratory Therapist certification. - Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. - Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as a licensed RRT. - Minimum of 1 year of ICU experience. - Previous experience with ventilators required. - Preferred Skills: - Strong accountability for patient care. - Exceptional teamwork and adaptability to changing patient needs. Work Schedule: - Shift hours: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM - Required to work every other weekend and holidays. - Must be willing to float to adult ICU areas, intermediate care, and basic intermediate care floors.
