Job Summary - Why you'll love this positionHigginsville Habilitation Center is recruiting for a Physical Therapist to be a part of a highly effective team that makes a difference in the lives of adults with developmental disabilities. HHC is a state-operated program within the Department of Mental Health and supports individuals receiving 24/7 services. The Physical Therapist must be detail-oriented, work well with others, have good time management skills, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be proficient with Microsoft Excel and other computer programsResponsibilities - What you'll doResponsibilities:This is a licensed professional position responsible for treating injured, ill, or disabled patients through therapeutic use of everyday activities to help these individuals develop, recover, improve, and maintain the skills needed for daily living and working. Acts with independence in directing screening and assessment, treatment, intervention, administration, program planning, and documentation for individuals to enable them to improve their optimal functional abilities. Applies clinical reasoning in developing physical therapy plans and programs. Plans the workload of employees, and provides supervision, training, and development. Delivers work direction and clinical supervision to Physical Therapist Assistants and other support staff. Additional responsibilities could include supervision of Therapeutic Service Workers, scheduling, and/or management of the Therapy Department.Knowledge:Knowledge of principles and methods used to develop and implement individual treatment plans.
