Mission or Goal of Unit: The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at the Virginia CommonwealthUniversity (VCU), Children's Hospital of Richmond (CHoR) is seeking a full-time, BC/BE pediatric hepatologist to serve as theDirector of Pediatric Hepatology. Applicants should have experience in both pediatric hepatology and transplantation. Thesuccessful candidate will be faculty in the VCU School of Medicine with affiliation in the Department of Surgery and assist in thedevelopment of a multidisciplinary pediatric transplantation core team at CHoR. VCU'sDepartment of Pediatrics is committed to training and developing the nextgeneration of dedicated pediatricians, caring for each child as if they wereour own and advancing the specialty and its myriad subspecialties throughinnovative research. Our central hub is at the Children's Hospital of Richmondat VCU in downtown Richmond, with satellite locations and community clinics allthroughout Central Virginia.Chief Purpose of this position: The Division of PediatricGastroenterology at the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), Children'sHospital of Richmond (CHoR) is seeking a full-time, BC/BE pediatrichepatologist to serve as the Director of Pediatric Hepatology. The facultyshares a common commitment to providing exceptional clinical care to childrenas well as providing a quality education to trainees and research in the areaof hepatology. There are opportunities for teaching and supervision of medicaland graduate students and pediatric residents. Candidates will be part of adynamic effort to enhance an academic gastroenterology center. Research andother scholarly activity are expected, and opportunities exist forcollaborative research with established researchers. In particular, theDivision of Adult Hepatology has a longstanding and extensive clinical andbasic science research program. Numerous campus resources are available tosupport basic, clinical and translational research, including a NIH-funded CTSAand the VCU Center for Clinical and Translational Research (CCTR).Position Responsibilities:Teaching: Faculty member will haveteaching responsibilities in the area of Hepatology.
