Mission or Goal of Unit: VCU's Department of Pediatrics iscommitted to training and developing the next generation of dedicatedpediatricians, caring for each child as if they were our own and advancing thespecialty and its myriad subspecialties through innovative research. Ourcentral hub is at the Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU in downtownRichmond, with satellite locations and community clinics all throughout CentralVirginia.Chief Purpose of this position: We are seeking a full-time board-certified orboard eligible developmental and behavioral pediatrician (non tenure-eligible)to join our team. This position willsupport the Child Development Clinic at Children's Hospital of Richmond by providingcomprehensive patient assessments that involve medical, psychological, andeducational testing. The physician willdiagnose patients across a range of developmental diagnoses including AutismSpectrum Disorder, ADHD, learning differences, developmental delay, and others.They will also provide recommendations for care planning, relevant referrals,follow-up care coordination and intervention for the division's patients. Position Responsibilities:Teaching: Faculty member will have teaching responsibilities that include teaching and mentorship to medical students, resident physicians, and other trainees when applicable.Research: Faculty member willhave working knowledge in research methods and be able to participate inclinical, translational, and outcomes research. Service: Faculty member will serve on departmental or School of Medicine level committees when appropriate,and engage in professional activities through journal review, conference presentations, etc.Clinical: Faculty member will serve as a Developmental and Behavioral physician for the Department of Pediatrics in the Division of Developmental Pediatrics in support of the clinical mission of CHoR at VCU.Other: Faculty member will take on administrative duties associated with this role.Required Qualifications:Board certified/board eligible in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics or Neurodevelopmental DisabilitiesExperience with clinical care of patients from birth to 21 years of ageExperience in an academic medical centerDemonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCUPosition Type: ClinicalFull time equivalent: 100Tenure: OpenRank: OpenMonths: 12Department:SOM/PediatricsSalary: CommensurateContact Information:Contact Name: Erin FlexonContact Email: Phone:
