First-timers are accepted. Weekend coverage is required every third week. Candidates are expected to work in intensive care units and on floors. They must be proficient in various airway management procedures, including endotracheal tube suctioning, extubation, nasal airway suctioning, oral airway placement, oropharyngeal suctioning, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy suctioning. Medication administration experience with Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, inhaled steroids, and Nitric Oxide is necessary. Candidates should be skilled in nebulizer techniques and high flow nasal cannula oxygen therapy. They must be able to manage ventilators, troubleshoot high pressure alarms, and wean patients from mechanical ventilation. The ability to interpret arterial blood gas results is required. This facility is a short-term acute care teaching facility with 1259 staffed beds. Candidates should be willing to float within the facility or affiliate locations as needed. All travelers must comply with necessary documentation and background policies prior to hire. References are preferred at the time of application. Travelers will also be expected to adhere to schedule consistency and work every other weekend. No local candidates are accepted within a 75-mile radius.
