This position involves working 3x12-hour night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30, with every other weekend and holiday commitment. Key Responsibilities: - Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the emergency department.- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.- Manage critical situations, including administering medications and treatments as prescribed.- Conduct rapid medical screenings for urgent care needs.- Maintain accurate documentation in the Cerner charting system.- Support patients with behavioral health needs in secured units.- Participate in continuous education and training, including stroke care and emergency intervention. Qualifications: - Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications are required.- Minimum of 3 years of RN experience in an emergency department setting.- Experience with a patient ratio of 4-6 is preferred.- Valid Maryland or Compact RN license required at the time of submission.- Strong assessment skills and the ability to interpret clinical data effectively.- Experience with advanced procedures including arterial line management, IV sedation, and phlebotomy is a plus. Unit Details: - The emergency department is a designated Primary Stroke Center and accommodates urgent care and critical care needs.- Supports a team structure with ED staffing and security personnel, with a focus on rapid evaluation units for urgent medical needs. Patient Demographics: - Care for a diverse patient population including neonates, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Additional Information: - Nurses will float within the hospital as necessary and are expected to adapt to diverse healthcare situations.- All nurses will be required to complete virtual modules on the first day of the contract and annually.
