nnnLocation: The Village of Southampton, an Independent Living and Assisted Living with Memory Care senior community
nPay Rate: $16/hr.
nFull-Time Shifts: 6:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. | 11:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
nAvailability: Must be available weekends and holidays
nnESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Prepare and cook a variety of meals, including soups, meats, gravies, vegetables, desserts, salads, and baked goods, from fresh, canned, dry, or frozen states according to recipes. n
- Adhere to residents' special dietary needs and restrictions. n
- Monitor all food items for temperature, taste, and quality; taste food to ensure top-notch quality. n
- Use various utensils and grillers to cook food, stirring or turning as needed. n
- Dress dishes for a great presentation before serving. n
- Keep the kitchen sanitized and orderly, ensuring all equipment is cleaned, working properly, and turned off before closing. n
- Store all food and items properly to maintain freshness and safety. n
- Check and ensure the quality of ingredients. n
- Monitor stock levels and place orders for shortages with supervisor's approval. n
- Follow nutrition and sanitation guidelines, including governmental and company policies, and ensure proper documentation. n
- Assist in training and orienting new kitchen staff. n
- Maintain high standards of appearance, cleanliness, and personal hygiene. n
- Attend all required in-service training sessions. n
- Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team. n
- Maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene as per company policies. n
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned. n
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

- High School Diploma or GED (culinary school training is a plus). n
- Accredited food handler certification within 60 days, as per State guidelines. n
- 6 months to 1 year of proven experience as a cook. n
- Experience with cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware. n
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling, etc.). n
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures. n
- Team player with effective oral and written communication skills. n
- Excellent physical condition and stamina. n
