Herzog Contracting Corp. is currently seeking a self-motivated Oiler/Lube Technician in Austin, TX to join our team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
*This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position.
  • Preventative maintenance on current equipment.
  • Minor repairs.
  • Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.
  • Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog's Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-year minimum mechanical experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must be able to provide minimal basic tools
  • Company provides required Personal Protective Equipment including a Safety Boots Allowance Program.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and endorsements as required per position.
  • Pass pre-employment DOT physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen due to the safety sensitive nature of this position.
    • This position requires you to pass and maintain a DOT medical evaluation to drive a Herzog commercial vehicle.
  • Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described below must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions of this role. This position will be physically demanding at times. This is a non-exhaustive overview of the physical requirements of this job.
  • Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces.
  • Must be able to walk up and down the length property, a total of 600 yards.
  • Must be able to ascend an 8 ft step ladder.
  • Must be able to ascend 24 stairs while carrying up to 30 pounds of equipment in hands.
  • Be able to crouch entire body below a 36-inch space.
  • Must be able to access a space with a width of 24 inches.
  • Grasp or squeeze various equipment and tools requiring forces up to 40 pounds up to 20 times an hour.
  • Must be able to lift a 50 pound bag full of equipment overhead.
  • Must be able to hold up to 40 pounds of equipment overhead for 30 seconds.
  • Required to assume a bent over posture and hold for 60 seconds 20 times per hour.
  • Be able to squat down and stay in that position for 2 minutes.
  • Lift parts weighing up to 100 pounds from ground to chest height and horizontally transfer it 4 feet.
  • Must be able to push hydraulic hoses into couplers, using upper body only, requiring 50 pounds of force, up to 10 times an hour.
  • Must successfully pass color/vision examinations as required by the position.
  • Must be able to hear and distinguish auditory signals as required by the position.
