National Capital Bank (NCB) is currently seeking a Full-Time Float Branch Associate based at our Headquarters location on Capitol Hill. There is a strong opportunity for growth in this position and at the National Capital Bank!
Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Customer Service:
  1. Developing CSR Level Customer Service: Provides exceptional customer service while handling routine account inquiries on deposit accounts and electronic services such as online and mobile banking and debit cards. Provides timely problem resolution to customer concerns and problems.
  2. Teller/Head Teller Customer Service: Handles routine customer inquiries on account transactions and assists teller line staff with various problem resolution; assists customers with basic account maintenance needs. Provides an overall excellent customer service experience greeting customers by name and thanking them for their business. Completes transactions in a professional and timely manner following policy and procedure guidance.
  • Developing CSR Skills:
  1. Relationship Development: Identifies customer needs and recommends NCB products and services to establish and expand banking relationship.
  2. Accurately prepares all documentation, inputs information into core processing system.
  3. Assists with enrollment and set up of online and mobile banking while explaining and demonstrating features and benefits.
  4. Makes referrals to other business lines to include residential mortgage, wealth management and commercial and treasury services.
  • Teller & Head Teller Responsibilities:
  1. Vault and Cash Management: Responsible for overall control and accountability for daily vault management. Orders and maintains supply of cash for daily branch operations. Manages teller requests for cash buys and sells and accurately balances the vault each day. Performs monthly teller drawer audits.
  2. Teller Transactions and Duties: Accurately processes customer transactions which may include but not limited to cashing checks, processing deposits, and withdrawals, change orders, loan payments, night depository deposits, issues cashier's checks, processes bond redemptions. Balances teller drawer daily within established limits and adheres to the teller difference policy.
  • Teamwork:
  1. Contributes to team environment by being available for shifts and branch coverage based on scheduling, and by performing daily teller line responsibilities.
  2. The role of Float Teller is specifically tasked with providing staffing coverage and support to all NCB branches.
  • Community Involvement:
  1. Participates in company-sponsored activities and/or company events and volunteers time to a community organization.
  • Compliance and Policy Adherence:
  1. Opens, closes and services consumer and commercial accounts in accordance with all policies and procedures specifically as it relates to regulatory requirements, including but not limited to BSA/AML/OFAC, etc.

Qualifications and Proficiencies:
  • The incumbent must be a customer service oriented, self- starter, reliable, team player, with a desire to learn and present a positive image for the Bank.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize priorities and tasks as required by time demands.
  • Ability to recognize and analyze, then address problems of a varied nature, including difficult situations.
  • Strong focus on accuracy.
  • Ability to follow policy and procedures.
  • Ability to handle working in different branch locations and maintain the operational knowledge to positively contribute to the branch team where the Float Branch Associate is working.
  • Knowledge of platform and related regulatory requirements (including BSA/AML, Reg CC, FDIC Insurance of accounts, monitoring for fraud & suspicious activities, account ownership, ECOA etc.)
  • Aptitude for figures and basic knowledge of debit and credit accounting.
  • Process NCB documents in an accurate and proficient manner.
  • Be PC literate.
Required Experience:
  • Two to Five years related experience in a financial institution; Two to Five years customer service experience; and account opening experience.
Required Education:
  • High school degree required or a GED equivalent.

Pay Range & Transparency:
$22.85 - $29.22NCB is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation opportunities to all colleagues. Reflected is the starting base pay range offered for this position.
