As Director of Development, you will lead the development office and oversee all aspects of donor relations, playing a vital role in advancing the organization's mission and ensuring its financial sustainability. You will be responsible for growing the annual campaign to $1.5 million through strategic planning, relationship building, and effective fundraising initiatives, all grounded in a deep commitment to the organization's mission and values.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute a fundraising strategy to meet the school's $1.5 million annual goal, aligned with its mission and values
  • Cultivate strong donor relationships and promote a culture of philanthropy within the Orthodox Jewish community and beyond
  • Manage the annual campaign and gala, ensuring successful fundraising and sponsorship outcomes
  • Represent and support the school at events, fostering pride and enthusiasm for fundraising efforts
  • Secure event sponsorships to boost visibility and donor engagement
  • Provide regular fundraising reports to school leadership and the Board of Trustees
  • Supervise development volunteers and collaborate with PTA and key stakeholders to support donor engagement
  • Build community partnerships and represent the school at local events
  • Research and apply for mission-aligned grant opportunities to expand funding sources
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • 5+ years of proven success in fundraising, donor relations, or development
  • Strong commitment to the mission and values of Orthodox Jewish education
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage and inspire donors
  • Experience planning and managing successful fundraising events
  • Skilled at managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong writing skills; proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Familiarity with Charidy and other fundraising platforms is a plus
  • Proficient in donor management and fundraising software
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
Compensation
  • Salary: $120,000-140,000, commensurate with experience
  • Generous benefits package
