We are seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for a specialty clinic in Medford. The position is 4 days a week, Monday through Thursday, from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m ., depending on the clinic's workload. Medical Assistant experience is required, but certification is not necessary. Scribe experience is a plus, but excellent data entry and typing skills are a must.
Must pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
- Patient Preparation: Greeting patients, taking initial patient histories, and preparing them for examinations.
- Scribe: Meticulously record details of patient visits in real-time, including the doctor's findings, diagnoses, treatment plans, and other relevant information.
- Assisting with Procedures: Preparing instruments, assisting with biopsies, excisions, and other procedures.
- Medication Administration: Administering injections and assisting with medication management as directed by the physician.
- Specimen Handling: Collecting and labeling skin samples for lab analysis.
- Wound Care: Assisting with wound care, suture removal, and dressing changes.
- Scheduling Appointments: Managing the schedule and scheduling patient appointments.
- Maintaining Records: Updating patient charts, managing electronic medical records (EMR), and handling correspondence.
- Insurance and Billing: Processing insurance claims and handling billing-related tasks, some coding.
- Answering Phones and Communication: Addressing patient inquiries, handling phone calls, and relaying information to patients and the physician.
- Patient Education:
- Providing patients with information on treatment plans and medication use.
- Maintaining a Clean and Organized Environment:
- Ensuring the exam rooms and equipment are clean and ready for patient care.
- Clinical Skills: Proficiency in taking vital signs, administering medications, assisting with procedures, and wound care.
- Administrative Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interact with patients, doctors, and other staff members.
