nJob Description: Commissioning Engineer (I, II, III) Reports To: Principal Engineer Classification: Full-time, Exempt Location: On-Site: Texas, Iowa, Oklahoma, and Missouri
nSUMMARY
nCommissioning Engineers assist in the modification, testing, and commissioning of substation protection and control systems for our clients.
nPRIMARY DUTIES
nReview substation drawings and conduct point-to-point checks.
nParticipate in the preparation of technical reports and documentation.
nCollaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and contractors to ensure project success.
nPerform data analysis and assist in troubleshooting electrical issues, following all applicable safety regulations.
nPerform other duties as assigned.
nWORK ENVIRONMENT
nMust be able to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
nFrequent standing and walking for extended periods, often over uneven terrain or in tight spaces.
nRegular bending, kneeling, and stooping to collect samples or operate equipment at ground level.
nFrequent and repetitive motions, such as reaching, stretching, twisting, and turning, are common.
nFrequent use of hands and fingers to handle, control, and operate tools, devices, and small components.
nOccasional climbing on slopes, embankments, or ladders.
nMust have clear vision (with or without corrective lenses) for close work and distance judgment.
nAdequate hearing and speech for communicating in noisy environments and hearing site safety instructions.
nExtended exposure to outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, rain, dust, mud, and noise, for extended periods.
nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
nBachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
nEducation or experience in the power industry, preferred.
nDesire to continuously gain understanding of power systems, including generation, transmission, and distribution
nTroubleshooting skills in protection and control, automation, HMI, or relay networks.
nPassion for renewable energy and sustainable solutions.
nExcellent listening, reading, communication (technical, written, & verbal), attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
nWillingness to travel to different job sites for extended periods, preferred.
