Line and Prep Cooks Role:
nLine and prep cooks are to efficiently cook tacos, meats, fish, vegetables, soups and other hot food products as well as prepare and portion food products prior to cooking. Also, perform other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate garnishes for all hot menu item plates.
nMust be willing to work Nights and Weekends Starting pay is $15 an hour, If you are willing you work Sundays we will give an additional $2 an hour on Sundays
nDuties and Responsibilities:
nAssumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served.
nKnows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
nStocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.
nPortions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
nMaintains a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, flat top range and refrigeration equipment.
nPrepares item for broiling, grilling, frying, or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or marinating.
nFollows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
nHandles, stores and rotates all products properly.
nAssists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.
nCloses the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assists others in closing the kitchen.
nAttends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
nPerforms other related duties as assigned.
nQualifications:
nMust be at least 21 years of age.
nMust be flexibly and willing to work late nights
nAbility to think quickly on your feet and be a problem solver.
nAbility to reach, bend, stop and frequently lift up 25 lbs. without assistance and 50 lbs. with assistance.
nWork in a hot and noisy environment.
nMust have high integrity and solid work ethic.
nStrong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
nExpected to work long hours during peak periods, evenings, and weekends.
nHaving or obtaining a food handler’s and/or alcohol certification may be required.
nExperience:
nMust have Back of House experience.
