Mechanical Engineer

Job Description
Our automotive supplier client in the Greater Lexington, KY area is seeking Mechanical Engineer candidates. This position will work onsite at the manufacturing facility with the following schedule: core hours will be 7a - 4p or 8a - 5p Monday - Friday with the first 6 months requiring extra hours due to a new line install project.
Primary Duties

• Provide technical support for production lines (tooling, labor standards, material structure)
• Plan design changes for manufacturing systems and assess impacts
• Implement process improvements using SPC, PFMEA, control plans, and root cause analysis
• Develop business cases and write justification for funding procurement
• Work within an ISO 9000 quality system and produce compliant documentation

Qualifications Required

• BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field of study
• Proficient with AutoCAD or related software
• 3+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience in a fast-paced heavy manufacturing environment
• Equipment design experience is required - this will be mostly jigs and fixtures
• Prior engineering experience with hands-on floor interaction
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to communicate technical information to other non-technical associates
• Strong project management skills

Qualifications Desired

• Experience with Fanuc or ABB robotic systems
• Experience with troubleshooting mechanical systems, including pneumatic and hydraulic equipment
• Experience with technical writing (procedures, training guidelines, specifications)
• Basic knowledge of control systems
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes
• Ability to design for maintainability

Salary and Benefits

• $95,000 - $110,000 annual salary, not eligible for OT
• Bonus potential up to 10%
