Position: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Versailles, KY
Shift: Monday-Friday, Day Shift (flexible to support all shifts as needed)
Compensation: $90,000-$110,000 base salary

Position Overview:
As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll support safe, efficient, and reliable production operations at a single-site Tier 1 automotive manufacturing facility. You'll design, implement, and improve production equipment, layouts, and processes to optimize performance and ensure compliance with OSHA and ergonomic standards. This role combines hands-on project design, resource coordination, and technical support for maintenance and production teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Champion a safe working environment and ergonomic systems across all shifts.
- Provide high-level support for automated manufacturing systems.
- Design, develop, and modify production equipment and processes for cost efficiency and reliability.
- Ensure equipment and plant layouts comply with OSHA guidelines.
- Write detailed technical specifications for projects and systems.
- Manage resources, including maintenance teams and vendors.
- Lead projects from concept to completion, including capital improvements.
- Oversee project timing, quality, and cost targets; coordinate contractors and suppliers.
- Design new equipment or redesign existing systems; manage fabrication, assembly, installation, and startup.
- Train plant staff on new equipment and troubleshooting procedures.
- Support production and maintenance teams with problem-solving and technical guidance.
- Work in a three-shift operation supplying finished goods to Tier 1 and Tier 2 automotive OEMs.
- Participate in problem-solving teams to achieve KPI goals.
- Manage shifting priorities and tight timelines to deliver high-quality internal customer service.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
- 2+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing plant (preferred).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and 2D CAD (AutoCAD preferred).
- Strong project management skills.
- Physical ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Fanuc or ABB robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and troubleshooting mechanical systems is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of control systems and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to write technical documents, procedures, and training materials is a plus.
- Ability to design with maintainability in mind.
