Provide production support by performing setup, troubleshooting and operations of automated welding cells within a production facility, as well as implementing best practices and proactively assess welding/robotic applications, as well as mentor Auto Technician I-IV team members.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS:

n

n* Demonstrate proficiency while troubleshooting automated welding cells to effect permanent change in order to eliminate cell downtime.n* Document and record all improvements and changes within the process in an ERP system.n* Follow all safety procedures and protocols while servicing or maintaining equipment.n* Mentor Auto and Weld Technicians.n* Ability to execute with proficiency all duties and responsibilities requirements of weld technician.n* Prioritize tasks within the facility relating to weld troubleshooting, set-up coordinated with production.n* Demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting using prints, multimeters, amp meters, etc.n* Perform, train and critique equipment preventative maintenance.n* Plex utilization (downtime codes, note entry, documentation, locating part listings/prints, etc.).n* Troubleshoot electrical components and circuits (Connecting circuit breakers, transformers, or other components in a junction box or panel).n* Wiring harnesses.n* Drive systems.n* Relays.n* Boards.n* Motors.n* Make proper connections of the following communication protocols: fiber optics, Ethernet, DeviceNet.n* Modify and perform basic programming of robots in all robotic applications such as ABB and Fanuc.n* Advanced weld troubleshooting for all welding applications (drawn arc, GMAW, resistance welding, Air over Oil systems, etc.).n* Properly troubleshoot and adjust pneumatic systems.n* Troubleshoot and adjust weld fixtures.n* Basic understanding of hydraulic systems (process, functions, etc.).n* Setup and troubleshoot Poke Yoke systems and applications.n* Weld troubleshooting.nn

Automation Technician must demonstrate competency in all (3) of the below specialties;

    1. PLC Programming

    3. Intermediate PLC programming (add sensor & change sequence)
    4. n
    5. Strong understanding of ladder logic and intermediate level ability to troubleshoot issues through a PLC
    6. n
    7. Program Panel View (HMI)
    8. n
    9. Troubleshoot/ Setup I/O blocks
    10. n
    11. Search, cross reference, and edit a program
    12. n
    13. Troubleshoot HMI system
    14. n
    15. Load program
    16. n
    17. Replace components (i.e., logical module, screen, etc.)
    18. n
    19. Replace system, set IP address, set system name
    20. n
  • n
  • Welding

    n
      n
    1. Intermediate Weld Troubleshooting
    2. n
    3. If needed, rebuild or reload schedules. Make changes as directed by Weld Engineers using RAFT
    4. n
    5. Emhart DA schedule changes as directed by Weld Engineers
    6. n
    7. Conduct preventive maintenance activities on specialty equipment
    8. n
    9. MIG weld schedule changes as directed by Weld Engineers
    10. n
    11. Cap / Electrode studies and weld validation
    12. n
    13. Calibrate squeeze force on spot weld guns
    14. n
    15. Troubleshoot Drawn Arc Stud Welding issues as well as basic programming
    16. n
    17. Troubleshoot/ setup projection welds
    18. n
    19. Working knowledge of Miyachi Weld Tester
    20. n

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of Weld Technician, Automation Technician, or equivalent experience
