Job Description
The Phlebotomist III - Float represents the face of our company to patients who come to us, both as part of their routine health care or for life-defining health insights. This role draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for laboratory testing while adhering to established procedures.
The Phlebotomist III - Float interacts directly with patients, building trust and explaining procedures while drawing blood in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. This role requires the flexibility to provide coverage at multiple locations and across various roles.
Responsibilities include:
  • Ensuring daily activities at Patient Service Centers, Mobile units, Long Term Care, or In-Office Phlebotomy are completed accurately and on time.
  • Demonstrating leadership behaviors focused on process excellence, confidentiality, and data accuracy.
  • May be assigned to work at and direct daily activity in diverse environments such as doctor's offices, patient service centers, home calls, or long-term care facilities.
  • Stepping in for a Phlebotomist III - Float and leading one or more Patient Service Representatives (PSR) onsite.
  • Acting as coach, mentor, instructor, and resource advisor for new employees.
  • Assisting in onboarding services for new clients.
  • Serving as a point of contact for on-site staff and reporting to the group lead or supervisor.
  • Providing phlebotomy support for practices with high complexity or volume, requiring advanced customer-facing skills, such as communication, problem-solving, and coordination across Sales, Lab Testing, IT, Billing, and Logistics teams.
  • Managing multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
Required Education
  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
  3. Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington
Work Experience
  1. Five years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
  2. Minimum of 3 years in a PSC/IOP environment preferred
  3. Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred
  4. Keyboard/data entry experience
