Description
nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
nReview prospective admissions against approved admission criteria, policies and procedures.
nInitiate contact to gather required clinical and demographic data from patient and other sources.
nRespond promptly to inquiry calls.
nSchedule assessments.
nConduct pre-admission assessments.
nAssist prospective patients and significant others in seeking treatment.
nRefer inquiries to other agencies and community resources when not appropriate for facility assistance or admission.
nCoordinate with referral sources.
nCoordinate transportation arrangements for patients.
nResponsible for maintaining all the documentation involved with the admissions process.
nOTHER FUNCTIONS:
nPerform other functions and tasks as assigned.
nEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
nHigh school diploma or equivalent required with college degree preferred. One-year experience in healthcare admissions, preferably in the mental health or substance abuse field.
