Job Description
General Summary:
Provides support to customers regarding Human Resource issues and is responsible for the administrative operations of the department.
Essential Duties:
Responsible for providing support to department in areas such as answering incoming calls, screening office visitors, issuing ID badges and responding to various inquiries regarding departmental operations, services, policies and procedures. Maintain accurate and organized electronic and hardcopy record keeping and file systems related to department operations and activities; perform tasks related to data entry and maintenance of employee information, document scanning, research, classifying, indexing, filing, storing, auditing, and other document management activities. Serve as the department's custodian of records overseeing the archival and retention process for departmental records and requests for information such as employment verifications, open records requests, etc. Provide general recruiting support, to include but not limited to assisting departments with posting positions, assisting applicants with the application process, application tracking/management, pre-employment processing, screenings, and onboarding. Provide administrative support to the HR department, in areas such as, purchasing office supplies, maintaining office equipment, event support and HR programming support. Assist with departmental accounting functions such as processing departmental invoices, purchase orders, processing of retiree insurance payment, and other procurement activities. Administers the Service Award program.

Required: High School graduation or its equivalent.
Preferred: None.
Experience
Required: Two years of clerical or office experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred: Previous HR experience and/or College Degree.

Physical Demands
Typical: Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear. May occasionally lift and/or move objects of low to moderate weight. Frequently works under time pressures to meet deadlines.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Typical: Standard office equipment. Basic mathematical calculations and data entry. Possess intermediate level computer skills in the use of word processing, spreadsheets, and data entry, as well as the ability to quickly learn software related to department functions. Possess excellent communication and customer service skills, including the ability to compose and prepare routine correspondence and documents. Well organized with the ability to complete work with a strong attention to detail. Ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving a variety of generally pre-defined duties which are often characterized by frequent change. Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding records and files. Ability to deal effectively and courteously with peers, superiors, and the general public.
