Position Description Summary/Purpose:
This position maintains all student financial records and ensures all tasks are completed timely and in compliance with current internal and external regulations. The Student Account Specialist also actively communicates with students via phone/email/in-person appointments to deliver exceptional customer service.

Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities:

- Audit student accounts to identify and calculate necessary adjustments, Title IV funding returns, credit refunds, and balances that need to be collected
- Invoice students for balances due and monitor status of pending payments
- Collect payments and record in student database
- Communicate with Financial Aid Officer(s) and Admissions Officer(s) regarding student accounts
- Communicate with students to discuss their account and financial obligations
- Process and monitor payment plans
- Ad hoc assignments as required by management
- Conducts all work in a safe manner and all work safety practices are followed.
- Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation permits.
- Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends.
- Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort.

- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, organizational, time management, and communication skills with a particular attention to detail
- Must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment and be capable of working independently as well as working in conjunction with others to foster a team-oriented environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of student accounts and related documents

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Education, Training and Experience:
- Associate's degree (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years relevant prior work experience preferred
- Knowledge of Colleague student account database preferred
