Position Title: Network Systems Administrator (Tier 2)

We are seeking a highly experienced Systems Engineer to support and maintain mission-critical IT infrastructure in a secure, high-performance environment. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in Linux/UNIX system administration, network configuration, system patching, and operational support. A strong understanding of systems and network security, documentation practices, and infrastructure engineering is essential. This position requires a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

We are seeking a highly experienced Systems Engineer to support and maintain mission-critical IT infrastructure in a secure, high-performance environment. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in Linux/UNIX system administration, network configuration, system patching, and operational support. A strong understanding of systems and network security, documentation practices, and infrastructure engineering is essential. This position requires a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain Linux/UNIX systems, specifically RedHat or CentOS.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot firewalls, routers, and related network components.
- Apply regular OS patches and system upgrades, including updating admin tools and utilities.
- Provide comprehensive support for IT systems, including monitoring, maintenance, and incident response across server, storage, and networking domains.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation including system requirements, configuration management plans, and user/training manuals.
- Participate in problem resolution for complex infrastructure issues.
- Ensure secure system operations in accordance with security and auditing policies.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate new technologies and optimize system performance.
- Experience with administering Linux or UNIX systems, including RedHat or CentOS
- Experience with configuring and updating firewalls and routers
- Experience with applying Operating System patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrading administrative tools and utilities
- Experience with providing support to IT systems, including day-to day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution of all of client server, storage, or network devices
- Experience with drafting technical requirements, engineering documents, configuration documents, training manuals, and troubleshooting processes, including updating as needed
- Knowledge of network/networking principles
- Knowledge of systems and network security, auditing, and user authentication
- TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
- Bachelor's degree and 14+ years of experience with systems engineering or 19+ years of experience with systems engineering in lieu of a degree
- Experience with Vertias NetBackup
- Experience with Apache NiFi
- Experience with cloud computing
- Experience with analyzing and documenting system processes, build procedures and system infrastructure
- Experience with automated configuration management
- Experience with troubleshooting standard daemons and tools
- Experience with Linux-related shell scripting
- Experience with NiFi operations and administration
- Experience with using WLANs and VLANs
- Experience with software engineering methods, real-time systems, and signals analysis.
- Excellent customer relationship skills, including experience managing requirements and addressing feature requests.
- TS/SCI clearance with a FSP polygraph (MD)
- Bachelor's degree and 14+ years of experience with systems engineering or 19+ years of experience with systems engineering in lieu of a degree
