We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer II to analyze functional business requirements and design specifications for mission critical defense applications . This role supports DoD contracts by identifying and resolving system design challenges , enhancing existing systems, and leading new IT infrastructure developments. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineering teams, ensuring optimal system performance and compliance with DoD security and operational guidelines .

Key Responsibilities:

    n
  • Analyze business requirements and design specifications to develop secure and efficient IT systems.
    • n
  • Identify and resolve issues within existing system architectures , implementing enhancements where necessary.
    • n
  • Participate in the analysis, design, and implementation of next-generation IT systems for defense applications.
    • n
  • Evaluate commercially available IT solutions (COTS) and ensure seamless integration into DoD infrastructure.
    • n
  • Translate customer needs into technical requirements , ensuring feasibility for engineering teams.
    • n
  • Work closely with programmers, software engineers, and systems architects to maintain system integrity.
    • n
  • Provide expertise in telecommunications, programming languages, operating systems, database management, and middleware .
    • n
  • Ensure systems comply with DoD security protocols, risk management frameworks (RMF), and cybersecurity best practices .

Required Qualifications:

n
    n

  • Active Secret Clearance: TS preferred.

    • n

  • Education:

    n
      n
    • Master's Degree or higher with 1 year of experience OR
      • n
    • Bachelor's Degree with 3 years of experience.
      • n
    • n

  • Experience:

    • n

  • 3 years of experience with a bachelor's degree OR

    • n

  • 1 year of experience with a master's degree or higher .

    • n

  • Strong knowledge of systems engineering principles, IT infrastructure, and secure software development .

    • n

  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance .

    • n

  • Expertise in network systems, cybersecurity frameworks, and system integration methodologies .

Preferred Qualifications:

n
    n
  • Experience with classified defense systems and DoD IT projects .
    • n
  • Familiarity with cloud computing solutions for defense applications (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government) .
    • n
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and secure software engineering methodologies .
    • n
  • Certifications such as Security+, CISSP, or DoD-approved systems engineering credentials .
