We are seeking a Systems Engineer I to analyze functional business requirements, design specifications, and system architectures to support DoD operations and IT modernization . This role involves assessing existing systems, implementing new solutions, and collaborating with engineering teams to develop next-generation IT systems for military applications.

Key Responsibilities:

n
    n
  • Analyze functional business requirements and design specifications for DoD IT and engineering systems .
    • n
  • Identify and resolve problems in existing system designs while leading new system implementations.
    • n
  • Enhance existing IT systems and participate in the analysis, design, and deployment of next-generation IT solutions .
    • n
  • Evaluate commercially available IT products (COTS) and integrate them into mission-critical applications.
    • n
  • Develop system requirements to ensure proper implementation by architecture and engineering teams .
    • n
  • Collaborate closely with programmers, system administrators, and cybersecurity experts.
    • n
  • Maintain expertise in telecommunications concepts, computer languages, operating systems, databases/DBMS, and middleware .
    • n
  • Support system integration, software testing, and security evaluations to meet DoD compliance standards.
    • n

Required Qualifications:

n
    n

  • Active Secret Clearance: TS preferred

    • n

  • Education:

    n
      n
    • Bachelor's Degree or higher OR
      • n
    • High School Diploma or GED Certificate with 1 year of relevant experience.
      • n
    • n

  • Experience:

    n
      n
    • Bachelor's Degree or higher OR
      • n
    • 1 year of relevant experience with a High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
      • n
    • n

  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, IT architecture, and defense system integration .

    • n

  • Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity policies, risk management frameworks (RMF), and IT governance .

    • n

Preferred Qualifications:

n
    n
  • Experience working with classified military systems and secure networks .
    • n
  • Knowledge of cloud computing technologies (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government) .
    • n
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD security integration .
    • n
  • Certifications such as Security+, CISSP, or DoD-approved systems engineering credentials .
