Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the development of purchased-finished power electronics components-specifically converters and inverters-for electric drivetrain systems. The ideal candidate will bring over 10 years of experience in power electronics, strong technical acumen, and a proven ability to manage full component development cycles from concept to production.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Own the complete development cycle of converters and inverters for electric drivetrain systems.
  • Collaborate with systems teams to define technical requirements.
  • Conduct technical evaluations and select optimal suppliers.
  • Manage hardware and software customization in collaboration with suppliers.
  • Support component-level testing, evaluation, and validation efforts.
  • Participate in NTI & NPI activities, including design and gateway reviews.
  • Coordinate with international teams-flexibility to attend meetings outside standard business hours is required.
  • Contribute to supplier evaluation, selection, and development (limited travel required).
  • Assist with commissioning components during machine builds.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on APQP and PPAP activities.
  • Investigate and document field issues related to electrical components.
  • Manage procurement, inventory, and shipment of components.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends in power electronics, particularly DC converters and inverters.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in product development or design.
  • Proven ability to deliver complete or partial product/component development cycles.
  • Solid knowledge in power electronics and electric drivetrain systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and technical decision-making ability.
  • Hands-on experience with component design, analysis, assembly, and testing.
  • Familiarity with quality tools such as FMEA, APQP, and PPAP.
  • Prior experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) and related issue resolution processes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; comfortable working in a matrix environment.
  • Self-motivated and proactive in driving project tasks forward.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with inverters and motor drives in electric powertrain applications.
  • Background in supplier evaluation and development.
  • Familiarity with power converter testing and validation.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing complex engineering assignments.
Work Environment:
  • Primarily office-based with occasional lab or field work.
  • Frequent cross-functional interaction with teams and suppliers.
