Basic Function: Lead the day-to-day marketing organization through integrated marketing, cross-functional project management, brand and fan strategy, and marketing plans with a focus on advertising, influencer, and retail marketing. Ultimately, this role serves as the key MarComm leader who drives the holistic, integrated marketing plans for the club.
Job Function (Duties & Responsibilities):
Marketing Responsibilities:
- Marketing Operations - Lead the cross-functional integrated marketing process. Ultimately, the Marketing team is responsible for project management, due dates/deadlines, and execution across numerous annual priorities including NFL Draft, Training Camp, Pre-Season, Season, and theme games.
- Brand Strategy - Drive the creative and operational "future Texans" strategy and plan including fan research, NFL collaboration, and internal alignment
- Fan Engagement - Manage current fan groups (Mascot Kid's Club, Battle Red Ladies, Somos Texans) and develop new formal ways to engage fans (Fan Councils, Youth Football, eSports)
- Advertising - Lead paid media strategy, creative asset trafficking, and trade agreements in digital, television, radio, out of home, print, and direct mail
- Influencers - Develop influencer strategy and collaboration opportunities for content, music, merch, hospitality, and media appearances
- Legends - Develop strategy to grow, engage and retain former Texans players as official club legends. Develop marketing plans to utilize Legends in club marketing efforts
- International - Create strategy and execute marketing plans in Mexico for fan and media development in key cities
- Retail - Collaborate with stadium retail operator on the annual retail buy, unique, per-game special merchandise drops, store design and collateral, and in-game marketing assets
- LSSE - Collaborate with LSSE on the marketing strategy and support Lone Star Sports & Entertainment (LSSE) events including international soccer matches, concerts, college football bowl games, and more.
- Fan Experiences - Oversee marketing gameday activations including overall gameday branding, grassroots activation, and fan group hospitality and recruitment
- Retail - Ensure retail strategy and special retail merchandising collections are represented at retail in the assortment, signage, in-game marketing
- Influencers - Cultivate and host special guests on gameday to ensure a best-in-class gameday experience from arrival, game engagement, and post-game
- Theme Games - Direct the overall MarComm organization in an integrated, consistent, and engaging game thematic across multiple functions including Marketing, Game Presentation/Production, Broadcast, and Activations
- Perform various other tasks that may be assigned from time to time by SVP MarComm and Ticket Sales.
Skills Required:
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office software applications.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a high-energy environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively and confidently across different mediums such as in person, on the telephone and in writing.
- Ability to think creatively to identify new and different ways to promote a business, individual, initiative, etc.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create and maintain solid working relationships at all levels across the organization and externally.
- Excellent attention to detail and an ability to produce high-quality, accurate work within designated deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidential and/or proprietary information.
- Ability and internal drive to demonstrate a positive, winning attitude and a strong work ethic in the performance of all job responsibilities.
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university preferred.
- High School Diploma required.
- Minimum ten (10) years working in a cross-functional, integrated marketing role.
- Strong management background in marketing operations, project management, and consumer engagement required.
- Experience working in a professional sports environment preferred.
