What you'll be doing:
- Provide design, technical support, and oversight for high-voltage transmission line projects (44kV-750kV), including renewable interconnections and grid modernization.
- Utilize tools such as PLS-CADD, MFAD, Venture 3D, and Electrical CAD depending on level and focus.
- Serve as technical lead and/or QA on projects (for PE-level roles), supporting EITs working toward licensure.
- Participate in planning, scheduling, estimating, and reporting on engineering activities to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Deliver high-quality design packages including drawings, BOMs, specs, and estimates.
- Engage directly with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure technical needs and project expectations are met.
- Mentor and oversee junior staff and drafters.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Level 2: 3+ years of experience in transmission design; preferably pursuing PE licensure but not required
- Level 3: PE license or within a year of licensure; typically 5-7+ years of high-voltage transmission line design experience.
- Proficiency with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, MFAD, and related engineering software tools.
- Strong understanding of utility standards and design principles including NESC, ASCE, and IEEE.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in team settings.
