Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer plays a critical role in optimizing the production process by designing, implementing, and evaluating manufacturing systems, tools, and workflows. This position is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives, introducing automation solutions, and ensuring high-quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience, strong technical knowledge, and a collaborative mindset to support company growth and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop efficient manufacturing systems, including tooling, equipment, and layout planning to optimize workflow and space utilization.
  • Lead and support new product introductions, including tooling programs, sample trials, and process validation.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Quality, and Customer Engineering teams to understand project requirements and ensure alignment with customer specifications.
  • Conduct product and process feasibility studies, generating documentation such as PFMEA, control plans, and work instructions.
  • Provide hands-on support on the production floor for process troubleshooting, quality improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Train and mentor operators and technicians on work standards, safety protocols, and quality objectives.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure proper functioning and preventive care of production equipment.
  • Apply lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to reduce waste and improve process reliability.
  • Contribute to a culture of accountability, teamwork, and respect within the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or a related field).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering role, preferably in plastic or automotive industries.
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with automotive industry standards and tools including FMEA, APQP, MSA, SPC, and PPAP.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to process improvement.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a team-based environment.
  • Proficient in CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools is a plus.
