Our client, a well-established and fast-growing manufacturer, is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in Grand Rapids, MI . This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving real-world production challenges, driving continuous improvement, and implementing hands-on solutions in a dynamic shop-floor environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead new product introductions with an emphasis on tooling, trials, and process validation.
- Design and implement efficient manufacturing systems, including tooling, layouts, and process workflows.
- Act as a resource for floor-level support for process troubleshooting, quality concerns, and improvement initiatives.
- Train production personnel on standard operating procedures, safety, and quality practices.
- Partner with maintenance to ensure equipment uptime and preventive maintenance programs.
- Conduct feasibility studies and prepare key process documentation (PFMEA, control plans, work instructions).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet customer requirements and technical specifications.
- Utilize lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or a related discipline).
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering role.
- 2+years of experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
- Solid knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Experience with FMEA, APQP, PPAP, MSA, and SPC
