Responsibilities
  • Plan, design, and oversee civil engineering projects including Industrial, Environmental, Storm Water & Marine construction projects.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to assess project viability and identify potential challenges or constraints.
  • Prepare detailed engineering designs, calculations, and technical specifications in compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with project stakeholders, including contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies, to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Manage project, timelines, and resources to ensure projects are completed within the allocated time constraints.
  • Conduct repair assessments and monitor plant activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project risks and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Prepare and review project documentation, including reports, drawings, and contracts.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, advancements, and best practices in civil engineering.
Key Results
Structural Design and Analysis:
  • Assist senior engineers in the design and analysis of precast concrete components and structures for projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Utilize structural analysis software to perform simulations and analyses for precast concrete elements, ensuring structural integrity and efficiency.
Design Documentation and Quality Assurance:
  • Prepare comprehensive structural calculations, drawings, and design documentation in adherence to industry standards and regulations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure the quality and integrity of structural designs and calculations through meticulous attention to detail and adherence to company standards and best practices.
Collaboration and Project Support:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including CAD designers, estimators, and project managers, to develop innovative precast solutions that meet project specifications and objectives.
  • Provide technical support and assistance throughout the project participating in project meetings, and site visits as required.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to production and manufacturing teams during the fabrication and installation of precast concrete elements.
Continuous Learning and Professional Development:
  • Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and best practices related to precast concrete design, construction, and structural engineering, pursuing continuous learning opportunities to enhance technical skills and expertise.
  • Pursue professional development opportunities to further enhance knowledge and expertise in structural engineering and precast concrete design.
Communication and Problem Solving:
  • Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities to address technical inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure project success.
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges and discrepancies related to structural design and analysis in a proactive and timely manner, demonstrating problem-solving skills and initiative.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or eligibility to obtain EIT certification within six months of hire.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant building codes, standards, and regulations, including ACI.
  • Prior internship or work experience in structural engineering or precast concrete design is preferred but not required.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
