Job Description
The Quality Engineer (Electronics) will:
- Support and maintain the company's ISO 9001 quality management system.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Participate in internal, customer, and third-party audits and inspections.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure quality in design and production.
- Lead or assist with incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
- Analyze quality data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain quality documentation, including inspection criteria and control plans.
- Respond to customer complaints and nonconformances with structured problem-solving methods.
- Support supplier quality efforts, including incoming material review and vendor communication.
- Apply quality tools such as FMEA, 8D, and SPC in daily activities.
- Contribute to Lean and Six Sigma initiatives as part of ongoing process improvement.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, internal procedures, and regulatory standards.
The Successful Applicant
The successful Quality Engineer (Electronics) will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field.
- 2-5 years of experience in a quality engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems.
- Proficiency in root cause analysis, corrective/preventive action (CAPA), and problem-solving methodologies.
- Familiarity with quality tools such as FMEA, 8D, SPC, and control plans.
- Experience with mechanical and/or electrical inspection processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and audit support.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and ERP or quality systems software.
- Exposure to supplier quality processes and material review practices.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles is a plus.
- Experience in a custom, low-to-medium volume production environment is preferred
