This position will work at a 100+ employee plant and will report into the Quality Manager on a team of 4 quality professionals. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience, is a quick learner, is able to communicate and relate to employees effectively, ideally is bilingual in Spanish (not required), and has manufacturing experience. Job Description
The Quality Engineer - Manufacturing will be responsible for the following:
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures for mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical assemblies
  • Perform root cause analysis and lead corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes for internal and external quality issues
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications to assess conformance
  • Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections using standard tools and testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, hi-pot testers, calipers, micrometers)
  • Maintain and improve ISO 9001 or ISO 14001 quality systems documentation
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and supply chain to support design reviews, new product introductions (NPI), and manufacturing process validation
  • Participate in and lead failure analysis on returned or non-conforming electrical/mechanical components
  • Monitor quality metrics and perform statistical analysis to identify trends and drive improvements
  • Support internal and external audits (ISO, customer, supplier) and regulatory compliance initiatives
  • Manage nonconformance reports (NCRs), material review board (MRB) processes, and supplier corrective actions
  • Evaluate and improve supplier quality performance through audits and incoming inspections

The Successful Applicant
The ideal Quality Engineer - Manufacturing will have the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or related technical field)
  • 2+ years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably power systems, electronics, or heavy equipment)
  • Ability to effectively communicate and relate to employees on the manufacturing floor and explain the why behind all things Quality.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required
  • Proficient in interpreting electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards and quality system maintenance
  • Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills (e.g., 5 Why, Fishbone, 8D)
  • Hands-on experience with inspection tools and electrical testing equipment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Minitab)
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Knowledge of standards such as UL, IEC, or IEEE related to power systems
  • Familiarity with FMEA, PPAP, Control Plans, and SPC
  • Familiarity with ERP and QMS platforms (e.g., SAP, Plex, Arena, MasterControl)
