Position Summary
This is an entry level position that performs work involving the maintenance of a wide variety of automotive and heavy construction equipment. This position requires reliability, dependability, and accountability in all aspects of the defined role.
The maximum salary range for this position is $38,750.40 - $67,808.00.
Essential Functions & Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Inspect and/or replace air, fuel, oil, transmission, hydraulic, etc., filters on heavy construction equipment as prescribed by the manufacturer or as needed.
• Grease and lubricate automotive and heavy construction equipment.
• Assist mechanics with repairs on vehicles and heavy equipment in circumstances where physical assistance is necessary.
• Documents work performed on automotive vehicles and heavy construction equipment.
• Work independently and complete assigned tasks.
• Pick up and deliver repair parts, supplies and equipment as needed.
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned to accomplish team and agency objectives.

Education, Experience, Certificates and Licenses
The ideal candidate possess the education and experience listed below.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Any combination of experience, education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
CERTIFICATES, LICENCES, REGISTRATIONS
• Valid Florida Class E Driver's License.
• Florida Commercial Driver's License, Class B preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; sit; climb or balance, speak, talk and hear, and taste and smell. The employee must frequently lift to 25 pounds of force and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects and frequently lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. The employee is rarely required to lift more than 100 pounds on occasion and 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Specific vision abilities are required to perform the requirements of the position including include close and distance vision, depth perception and field of vision.
