nSummary:
nTests patients specimens using automated instrumentation or POC testing methodologies, analyzes and reports results in a professional manner; performs phlebotomy, completes required registrations, test order entry, activation of orders to ensure appropriate billing compliance,
nResponsibilities:
n1 Greets customers in a friendly manner, assists patients with special needs, and provides necessary information, always respectful of confidentiality.;

Accurately identifies patient, performs accurate and complete registrations or encounter activations and order entry when applicable, performs phlebotomy. ;

Communicates process to patient and collects specimens from patient for subsequent analysis, in accordance with approved techniques and observing Universal Precautions. ;

Performs daily quality control and documents results before testing patient samples. Notifies the Lead or Technical Specialist of any unacceptable results. ;
n n - n
Performs routine, stat and point of care testing of patient samples according to established procedures to ensure timely and accurate results. Forwards critical result samples to the main laboratory for confirmation.

Completes event logs and forwards communication in a timely manner that allows for proper follow up of concerns and issues.;

Monitors and stocks supplies.;

Education: HS GRAD/EQUIVALENT
nOther Information:
nPhlebotomy and laboratory experience preferred.
nWorking Conditions:
nManual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity

nPhysical Effort: Medium to Heavy effort. May exert up to 35 lbs. force
nPhysical Environment: Significant exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
