Description
The HR Coordinator provides vital support to the Human Resources department and plant operations by facilitating HR processes, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and supporting a safe, productive, and respectful workplace. This role plays a key part in recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, and maintaining employee records for Carlton Farms.
Requirements
- Assist with full-cycle recruitment for plant positions including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Support new hire orientation and ensure proper documentation, including I-9.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in HRIS and personnel files.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions regarding benefits, timekeeping, attendance policies, and general HR inquiries.
- Coordinate safety training and compliance in collaboration with Safety and Operations teams.
- Oversee all Workers Comp Claims and EAP
- Track and administer corrective actions and performance documentation.
- Serve as back-up receptionist. Answer phones and great guests.
- Support HR initiatives focused on employee retention, engagement, and communication.
- Assist with investigations related to employee complaints, harassment, or violations of company policy.
- Prepare reports related to HR metrics, compliance audits, and headcount tracking.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Provide support for special projects, events, and other HR functions as needed.
- Translate at safety meetings, employee lunches, meetings etc. as needed.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 1-3 years of HR experience, ideally in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
- Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with HRIS systems a plus.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Comfortable working in a production environment and wearing required PPE when needed.
- Office-based with frequent interaction on the plant floor.
- Exposure to refrigerated environments, loud noises, and production equipment
