Vision

n

The ES team will be responsible for assisting the EMC Design Engineering team with

n

product testing and debug, new lab bringup and maintenance, and test equipment

n

verification and calibration testing at the Austin EMC lab. Additionally, they will support

n

teardown, rework, and soldering for consumer electronics products.

JD:

Work closely with engineers to execute test plans per EMC standards

n

Prepare test reports and communicate data to engineers

n

Review EMC test data, prepare test reports, and debug anomalous results in collaboration with engineers

n

Work with facilities teams to plan deployment of new EMC test equipment and chambers

n

Perform periodic calibration and verification measurements for EMC test equipment

n

Monitor new test equipment delivery and assist in installation

n

Perform rework on consumer electronics, including soldering and mechanical teardown and re-assembly

n

Track equipment calibration schedules and coordinate with third party partners

Technical Requirements

n

Experience testing and debugging prototype consumer electronics, including software/ firmware and EMC issues

n

Familiarity with EMC test standards including EN55022, EN55032, IEC61000-3-3, IEC61000-4-2, IEC61000-4-3, IEC61000-4-4, IEC61000-4-5, IEC61000-4-6,

n

IEC61000-4-11, and ETSI 301 489-7

n

Experience supervising and performing EMC testing, with a focus on quality assurance and process optimization

n

Familiarity with lab equipment and maintenance procedures, including calibration and verification of ESD guns, surge testers, receivers, oscilloscopes, SAs, VNAs, cables, amplifiers, LISNs, and CDNs

n

Experience in product testing and validation at contract manufacturers and at ISO 17025 accredited labs is a plus

n

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English with experience generating technical reports

n

Experience reworking electrical components as small as 01005

Success Criteria/Definition of Done

• Completion of EMC validation for all development builds for supported projects

n

• Completion of lab bringup and implementation of verification and calibration

n

processes at Apple Austin EMC Labs in RV04 and PL01
